About Us
Who are We?
The Rotaract Club of SMU (RAC SMU) is a youth development club that emphasizes on service, networking and fellowship. We were chartered in 2001 and our membership has to date grown to a sizeable strength 79 Rotaractors. Our club members are from the SMU student population, who are keen to make a difference to the community, cultivate better relations with fellow schoolmates & fellow Rotaractors and Rotarians through a framework of friendship.
Rotaract (Rotary-in-Action) clubs are part of a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world. Rotaractors have access to the many resources of Rotary International (RI) and the Rotary Foundation. Rotary International provides the administrative support that helps Rotaract clubs thrive. The motto of Rotaract is Fellowship Through Service.
RAC SMU is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Orchard, which also sponsors our sister club RAC Republic Polytechnic. This allows us to tap on expertise and experiences of our Rotarians to achieve a fulfilling and enriching time serving the club. As a university-based club, we also work closely with the SMU Office of Student Life and Office of Career Services to reach out to the SMU student population.
